Imphal, October 13 2025:
The 27th Foundation Day of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) was celebrated today at its head office complex in Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai.
The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Soraisam Memcha Leima, president, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apurba Manipur; Sorokhaibam Sanjoy, president, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO); Yumkhaibam Kunjarani, president, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association Manipur (AMAWOVA); Hijam Roshan, president, MSF; MSF advisors Ngariyanbam Milan Singh and O Ashnikumar; and Kh Serajuddin, advisor of MSF & Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO).
The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the MSF flag followed by offering of floral tributes to the deceased members of MSF as well as the martyrs who have laid down their lives in the ongoing Manipur crisis.
Speaking on the occasion, Hijam Roshan said that since its inception in 1998, MSF has been playing an important role in various issues of the State.
He asserted that over the years, MSF has strived to strengthen the education system in the State and educate the masses about the territorial and political status of Manipur.
He also expressed his anguish over the failure of the State Government to fully implement the Manipur Official Language Act, 1979, which has led to the marginalization of Manipuri language in official spheres, education, and public life.
"The resulting dominance of English and Hindi threatens the State's linguistic and cultural heritage, erodes cultural identity, and impedes effective public administration", he added.
Furthermore, Hijam Roshan called for collective effort to promote the Manipuri language which is deeply intertwined with the State's history, folklore, and social values.
Moreover, a Mega Blood Donation Camp was also conducted on the occasion of MSF's Foundation Day, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, State Blood Cell, NHF and SBTC Manipur.
