One day awareness programme on "Curtailing Student Dropouts" held

Jiribam, July 13 2025:
A one-day awareness programme on "Curtailing Dropouts of Students for the age group 14-19 yrs" was held at PWD Guest House, Babupara, Jiribam on Jul 11, 2025 .
The programme targeted principals, headmasters, and headmistresses of Government High School & Higher Secondary Schools within the jurisdiction of Jiribam.
The event was attended by ZEO Jiribam, Th Amurashi Chanu MES; Asst Professor Jiri College, O Radheshyam; and Asst Professor Jiri College, Kh Anupriya Devi as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, resource person O Radheshyam Singh explained that a variety of social, economic, political and geographical factors contribute to the dropout rate among students.
He stressed the need for collective efforts to addres these issues.
Another resource person, Kh Anupriya Devi highlighted that the majority of school dropouts occur between the ages of 14 and 19 due to socio economic factors.
She noted that early interventions are necessary to prevent dropouts and added the root causes are often embedded in wider socioeconomic challenges.
