CADA, others extend support to Lei Ingkhol residents

The Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) along with 11 other organisations joined Lei Ingkhol villagers today in staging a sit-in protest to save the village from the proposed eviction drive for the expansion of the High Court of Manipur.
The protest held at Lei Ingkhol village witnessed the participation of volunteers from CADA, Yaipha Meira Paibi Marup, Laipham Khunou Mamang Leikai; Nongmeibung Women's Development Meira Paibi Association Unit-I; Meeyamgi Yaipha Nupi Lup, Khongman Zone IV; Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Lup, Uchekon; Kongba Road Meira Paibi, Kongba; Thinungei Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Thinungei; Hiyangthang Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Hiyangthang; Kodompokpi Mayai Leikai Nisha Bandh Association; Kodompokpi Mamang Leikai Meira Paibi; Pungsumbang Leikai Women Welfare Association, Takyel Khongbal and Lamdeng Meira Paibi Lup, Lamdeng, said a press release issued by CADA.
The protesters wielded placards with messages like "Save Lei Ingkhol", "We oppose uprooting of Meetei village" etc .
Main topics of discussion at the sit-in protest include ensuring the residents of Lei Ingkhol continue to live in the village and maintaining the current status of Lei Ingkhol and its surroundings.
