The celebration of Lui-Ngai-Ni (a seed sowing festival of the Nagas) for this year would take place at United College Lambung, Chandel district Headquarters on February 15 under the theme "Enriching culture for prosperity".
Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee Thangminlien Kipgen would grace the occasion as chief guest, while care taker cum President of United Naga Council Samson Remai and Vice President of Naga Hoho Keviletuo Kiewhuo would be the functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Lui-Ngai-Ni, according to the programme committee, has been celebrated every year on the 15th of Feb with much fanfare since 1987 showcasing oneness of culture of the Naga people, who have scattered mainly in the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, and some parts of Myanmar.
"Before our people came into contact with modern civilisation, our culture stand for social value of respecting each other's way of life and peaceful co-existence.
But today this civilisation of individualism, greed and selfish encrouched upon the land and influenced our way of life.
Therefore we in the present generation need to preserve and enrich our culture for our prosperity so that they could be passed on to the future generation to protect our common identity and cultural value", narrated the committee.
