BABINA Hospital holds basic NRP course on National NRP Day

A Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP) course was held at BABINA Hospital, Khabeisoi, on Sunday to mark National NRP Day 2026.As per a release issued by BABINA Hospital, the workshop was held under the aegis of the National Neonatology Forum.
It was part of the IAP-NNF NRP First Golden Minute Programme to strengthen neonatal resuscitation skills and improve newborn care.
As part of the nationwide observance, 1,100 courses were held and 24,000 healthcare providers trained across the country on a single day.
At BABINA Hospital, 44 doctors and nurses took part in the four-hour intensive hands-on training.
The course was inaugurated by Dr Th Dhabali Singh, CMD of BABINA Group of Companies.
He stressed the need for timely neonatal resuscitation and continuous skill development to reduce newborn mortality and improve outcomes.
Sessions covered preparation for birth, routine newborn care, initial steps of neonatal resuscitation, brief ventilation, prolonged ventilation with normal heart rate, prolonged ventilation with slow heart rate, and performance evaluation.
Participants also underwent practical demonstrations and skill assessments.
The training was conducted by Prof N Kameshore Singh, Dr L Basanta Singh, Dr L Radhapyari and Dr Chabungbam Smilie.
The programme ended with a feedback session, group photos and distribution of certificates.
