Imphal, March 06 2025:
The Central Representatives Union (CRU) in collaboration with Medical and Sales Representative Association of Manipur (MSRAM), organised a discussion on "Medical Representatives' Grievances and Its Impact" at GM Hall, Imphal today.
It was attended by All India Organisation of Chemist & Druggist (AIOCD) joint secretary Kangjam Sagar Meitei, CRU former president Ningombam Dilipkumar and MCDA secretary Thokchom Dijamanina as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, CRU secretary Th Langamba emphasized that under the Sales Promotion Employees Act, 1976, medical representatives have the legal right to promote medicines and brands in hospitals, pharmacies, and to doctors.
He strongly condemned the restriction imposed on medical representatives from entering the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) OPD campus.
He asserted that the ban is an unfair attack on medical representatives who rely on access to hospitals for their profession.
Besides, the gathering resolved to submit an ultimatum to RIMS hospital authority for immediate revocation of the ban.
The gathering also decided to launch a protest demonstration if the authorities fail to respond positively.
