College of Nursing celebrates 14th Foundation Day

The 14th Foundation Day Celebration cum Oath Taking Ceremony of the 1st Semester BSc Nursing students (2025 batch) of the College of Nursing, Medical Directorate, Government of Manipur was held today at the college's multipurpose hall in Lamphelpat.
The celebration was graced by Ng Bhogendra Meitei, Director, Department of Education (S), Manipur and Dr N Hemantakumar Singh, Director, Health Services Manipur as the chief guest & president respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Ng Bhogendra said that after the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP), the Social Welfare, Health, and Education Departments play a crucial role in a child's education by focusing on holistic development, ensuring equitable access, and integrating various support systems.
He asserted that the Social Welfare and Health Departments contribute through initiatives that support children's well-being, while the, Education Department focuses on curriculum, pedagogy, and inclusive learning environments to ensure all children can succeed.
He continued that this collaboration is yital for achieving the NEP's goal of providing high-quality, equitable education from early childhood to higher education.
Ng Bhogendra also highlighted the key role of nurses in developing the healthcare sector and urged all the students who are stepping into the nursing profession to serve the patients with compassion & extreme care without any discrimination based on colour, caste or creed.
As part of the event, Dr N Surbala Devi, Principal, College of Nursing, administered the nursing oath to 36 students of the college.
