Corps Commander reviews operational readiness

Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, undertook a visit to Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Garrisons today to assess operational preparedness and troop welfare in the backdrop of the prevailing situation in Manipur.
At Mantripukhri Garrison, the Corps Commander was received by the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), who briefed him on the current security environment and the measures being implemented by IGAR (South) and formations under command to stabilise the region, said a press release.
The discussions covered the operational posture of units, coordination with civil authorities, and the evolving challenges in maintaining peace and order.
Proceeding to Keithelmanbi Garrison, Lieutenant General Kalia was given a detailed overview by Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles on the security scenario in the Imphal valley and the conduct of counter-insurgency operations.
He interacted with personnel of the garrison and underlined the importance of close cooperation with sister security agencies, including the Manipur Police and Central Armed Police Forces, to ensure synergy in operations and effective management of the internal security environment.
The visit also brought focus to Project Sadbhavna, with emphasis on continuing initiatives that foster community engagement and contribute to societal upliftment.
