'Loktak Paat ki Lily' premiers at Tanthapolis

The premier show of the Manipuri digital film "Loktak Paat ki Lily" was held today at the Tanthapolis, Lamphel.
The event saw the participation of notable figures, including Laitonjam Jayananda, president of SED Foundation and IPR secretary of National People's Party (NPP) Tera Lai; filmmaker Sanaton Nongthomba, special contractor Nongmeikapam Gouro Meitei, and various other prominent local filmmakers and artists.
Speaking on the occasion, Laitonjam Jayananda highlighted the exceptional quality and filmmaking style of Manipuri cinema, noting its ability to attract national and global audiences and win awards.
He stated that the Manipuri film industry is continuously growing.
Jayananda also praised the gradual revival of cinema halls in the region and the screening of local films in these venues, especially following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent conflicts that significantly impacted the local economy and artists.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing digital platforms to make local films accessible to a worldwide audience, which could help establish a larger market for Manipuri cinema.
Jayananda further expressed confidence that the hard work of the film's producers, directors, and artists would result in a film that the public would enjoy.
