Liquor worth more than Rs 6 lakh destroyed

Thoubal, May 04 2025: Liquor worth over Rs 6 lakh have been destroyed at Yairipok Excise Station today.

The liquor destroyed at Yairipok Excise station was seized by 6 Excise stations of Kakching and Thoubal district between May 2024 and March, 2025 .

The liquor included 11.90 litres of Rum worth Rs 7,140; Beer (27 litres) worth Rs 8100; DIC (6199.50 litres) worth Rs 6,19,950 and Wine (1.50 litres) worth Rs 600 .

District Nodal Officer, Pangambam Ranjit has sought cooperation from the public, police, clubs, organizations, associations and meira paibis of the State to aid in the efforts to combat illegal liquor in the State.

The liquor were disposed of in the presence of OCs of Lilong, Thoubal, Yairipok, Kakching, Pallel and Sugnu Excise stations and other personnels.
