Ningol Chakkouba celebrated at Jiribam, Kakching

Jiribam/Kakching, November 01 2025: Ningol Chakkouba celebrations were held today at Jiribam and Kakching organised by Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Jiribam Branch and All Kha Kanglei Students Union (AKKSU), Kakching respectively.

At Jiribam, the festivities were carried out at Hilghat Maning Leikai Community Hall with the participation of various Rongmei and Meitei Pangal organisations.

The event was graced by Oinam Priyobanta Singh, convenor, COCOMI Jiribam Branch; B Sarat Sharma, advisor, COCOMI Jiribam Branch; Th Jini Devi, convenor Women Wing COCOMI Jiribam Branch; H Thoibi Devi, president, WWOK, Jiribam; N Nibharani Devi, president, WASED, Jiribam; S Kamala Devi, president, AMKIL, Jiribam; L Koibi Devi, president, IKAL, Jiribam; Neilai Gonmei, president, Lungreijang Women Society and Leihao Bibi, vice president, All Jiribam Pangal Women Welfare Association as presidium members.

The event kicked off with the lighting of the ceremonial lamps.

Following this, the dignitaries were honoured with traditional Namphi shawls.

Later, the gathering shared a luncheon to celebrate Ningol Chakkouba and simple gifts were presented to the Ningols on behalf of COCOMI Jiribam Branch.

Meanwhile, All Kha Kanglei Students Union (AKKSU), Kakching organized the 5th Apunba Ningol Chakkouba at the Central Public Hall of YM High School located at Kakching Sangaiyumpham.

The celebration was attended by Naorem Praveen, IAS, Secretary, YAS/MOBC as the chief guest; Naorem Sanjitkumar, Caretaker Chairperson, Kakching Municipal Council as the functional president; Victoria Yengkhom IPS, Additional Director, MPTC Pangei and Priyadarshini Laishram MPS, SP Kakching as the special guests and Pangambam Shantikumar MCS, ADC Kakching District and Kh Hemabati MPS, SDPO Kakching as the guests of honour.

While the Ningols were presented with simple gifts by the organisers on the occasion, the food items brought by them were donated to Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi and BDS Children Home For Girls located at Keirak.
