Minister inaugurates HWC at Kakching

Kakching, December 29 2019:
Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh has inaugurated Health & Wellness Centre, HWC, Wangoo at Primary Health Centre, PHC, Wangoo Laipham in Kakching District.
He also inaugurated a Palliative Care Centre.
Along the inauguration of HWC and Palliative Care Centre, a mega health and enrolment camps of Chief Minister-gi Hakselgi Tengbang was also held at the same place.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, L Jayantakumar Singh said that the requirement of doctors and nurses in Wangoo PHC and medical attention of the people of the area had already been sensed long ago when he visited the place.

He also maintained that PHC Wangoo Laipham has already been upgraded to the status of Community Health Centre, CHC, by a sitting of the State Cabinet.
Due to shortage of fund, the present CHC is lacking some of the infrastructures, equipment and staff, but the Government is taking its best possible steps to fulfil the wishes of the people especially in health sector, the Minister said and assured that posting process of one new doctor for CHC Wangoo Laipham in addition to the present staff strength will be initiated.
Fifty three different health-related tests were also made available at free of cost during the health camp.
The Minister also highlighted the benefits given to those CMHT cardholders by the Government.
Through this health scheme, CMHT cardholders can enjoy the free treatment in the empanelled hospitals of the State amounting upto Rs 2 lakh annually, he said and maintained that this amount of health insurance is increased to Rs 5 lakh for the PMJAY(Prime Minister Jana Arogya Yojana) cardholders.
The State now has 25 (Twenty-five) empanelled hospitals under CMHT including CHCs and UPHCs and State and District Hospitals and one empanelled hospital at Guwahati namely Narayan Superspeciality Hospital, he added.
The Minister also appealed the public to cooperate with the initiatives of the Government to develop the health sector in the State.
Speaking as president, MLA, Kumbi Assembly Constituency, S Bira said that politics and development should be separated.
Saying that the schemes of the incumbent Government should be welcomed by the people since these schemes are in public interest, the MLA lauded the State Health Department for its effort.
The inaugural function was also attended by Dr K Rajo Singh, Director Health & Family Welfare and Dr Prabin Singh, Joint Director, Health as guests of honour.
Later, the Health Minister and his team paid a visit at different units of the CHC, Wangoo, Laipham.
