Conference, awareness programme held

Imphal, June 29 2025:
Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness programme on the theme, "Nishan Khunaida Piba Cheitheng Amasung Masibu Thingbada Meeyamgi Thoudang" at Sagolband Sadokpam Leikai Community Hall, Imphal West district today.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Chaokhat Thourang Nupi Khutpu and United Development Club.
It was attended by CADA president Hijam Priyokumar, Sadokpam Leikai Singlup vice president Sadokpam Ibopishak Singh and meira paibi leader Sadokpam Bino Devi as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion as a resource person, CADA vice president Ningthoujam Doren said that CADA has been conducting awareness campaigns to educate the people about the menace caused by the widespread use of drugs and other intoxicants.
Expressing concern over the increasing cases of drug abuse in the State, he called for the public's support in the fight against drug abuse to bring forth a healthy and developed society.
Meanwhile, the Department of Statistics, Manipur University organised a 1-day national conference on "Harnessing Statistics For Inclusive & Sustainable Development A Multidisciplinary Approach" at its conference hall today.
The conference was graced by dignitaries, including Prof N Lokendra, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University; Prof Salam Opendra, Statistics Department, Manipur University; and Prof Kh Kumarchand, former Head, Statistics Department, Manipur University.
The conference featured a technical session wherein experts/resource persons shared their insights on various topics.
A souvenir was also released as part of the event.
