PLAMPAM completes 40 yrs

The Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLAMPAM) celebrated its 40th foundation day at GM Hall, here, today.
At the observance, the gathering stood in silence for two minutes to pay homage to the deceased members of the women's organisation.
Simple gifts were also presented to representatives of different women's organisations.
Addressing the function, PLAMPAM president Soraisam Memcha said that they will follow the legacy of the brave mothers who were at the forefront to protect Manipur whenever any issues emerged.
All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) president Y Kunjarani said that the meira paibis have been standing against the AFSPA, 1958, under which many innocent people were allegedly killed and women were defiled.
Saying that Manipur has been in crisis since May 3, 2023, she added that people need to work together until the internally displaced people (IDPs) return home.
All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang also attended the programme.
He said that Manipur has been facing different problems from time to time, and meira paibi groups and student organizations took an active part when it came to protecting the State.
