ACME Fertility & Healthcare Centre, Imphal, celebrated World IVF Day 2026 with enthusiasm at its Auditorium on Saturday, honouring the journey of hope and parenthood made possible through Assisted Reproductive Technology.
Observed globally on July 25 to commemorate the birth of Louise Joy Brown, the world's first IVF baby in 1978, the day marks a major milestone in reproductive medicine.
It also celebrates decades of scientific progress that have enabled millions of couples worldwide to realize their dream of having children.
Dr James Elangbam, Managing Director of Acme Fertility & Healthcare Centre, delivered the keynote address.
He highlighted the evolution of IVF, stressed the importance of ethical and affordable fertility care, and reaffirmed the hospital's commitment to providing advanced, compassionate reproductive healthcare to families in Manipur and across the North-East.
A special Poster Presentation by students of ACON showcased scientific and educational insights on infertility, assisted reproduction, and maternal healthcare.
One of the most emotional segments was the felicitation of IVF babies and their families.
During the Testimonial and Interaction Session, parents shared their personal journeys, inspiring many couples still pursuing parenthood.
Dr Elangbam said every successful IVF journey reflects the combined efforts of doctors, embryologists, nurses, technicians and the courage of aspiring parents.
