Blood donation, health camps conducted

In connection with its 24th Foundation Day celebration, the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) organised the 84th Mega Blood Donation Camp at five different locations on Wednesday.
The blood donation camp was held under the banner "Maheiroi Khunai amadi Leibak Meeyamgidamak Kathoklaba Ee" at RIMS Hospital, JNIMS Hospital, Babina Specialty Hospital, Shija Hospital & Research Institute and District Hospital Thoubal.
About 150 volunteers donated their blood during the camp to help address the shortage of blood in the State.
At the event, DESAM president Mayengbam Somorjit praised the volunteers and members of DESAM who participated as blood donors, calling their contribution a noble act of service to humanity.
"Every time you donate blood, you can save up to three lives.
There is no substitute for blood, and there are a lot of different patient populations who need blood-sometimes emergently", he added.
Somorjit further urged the public to overcome hesitation and adopt the noble habit of regular blood donation to ensure a sufficient & safe blood supply for everyone in need.
Moreover, the Youth Development Centre (YDC) Club in collaboration with 50-Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital, Keirao organised a 1-Day Free AYUSH Medical Camp at the premises of the club in Keirao Bitra today.
The camp was conducted under the aegis of the Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Manipur and National AYUSH Mission.
During the camp, over 180 individuals receive free health examinations and consultations.
Those in need were also provided with free medications and lab tests.
Notably, the camp was organised in connection with the 46th Foundation Day of YDC Club.
Pukhrambam Maipaksana, president of YDC Club, played an active role in conducting the medical camp to ensure essential medical services were provided to the local community.
