SHAL observes 'Sheirengbasingee Numit'

The 15th Sheirangbasingee Numit & Foundation Day of Sheirengbasingee ApunbaLup (SHAL), Manipur was celebrated today at Kangla Mini Film City in Kongba Uchekon Khunou, Imphal.
The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Thingujam Oxford, District Supply Officer, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution; Kshetrimayum Subadani, patron member, SHAL; Keisham Bijoykumar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Vigilance); Deban Athokpam, Assistant Director, Health Services; and Dr Thingbaijam Swarankumar Singh, president, AMMIK Bishnupur Centre.
Delivering the keynote address, SHAL secretary Jiban Moirangthem said that since its inception in August 23, 2010, SHAL has been celebrating Sheirengbasingee Numit every year to encourage the reading, writing, and teaching of poetry, and recognize the contributions of poets to the society.
He also spoke on how literature & art act as a mirror of the society and stressed the need for promoting art and literature.
During the event, the 'Lyricist of the Year 2025 Award' was presented to Ngangbam Ibetombi and Ahanthem Chaobao while the 'Music Composer of the Year 2025 Award' was given to RK Birendrajit Singh and Lai Jiten.
The 'Singer of the Year 2025 Award' was conferred to Pukhrambam Chandrakumar and Thongam Luxmi.
The 'Khuraijam Phulo Sanathoi Mana 2023' was presented to Keisham Priyokumar Singh for his book "Thajagum Ningthibi Maithongdo" and the 'Khuraijam Phulo Sanathoi Mana 2025' was given to Hawaibam Jandho for the book "Liri Sitpa Ayukki Malangda" .
The awards include a shawl, citation and memento.
A book titled "Sheitharol 16 Suba" edited by Doneshwar Konsam was also released.
