Lup provides pension to martyrs' families

Imphal, July 20 2025: Apunba Khundrakpam Kendra Tengbang Lup has provided monthly pension to families of martyrs from Khundrakpam assembly constituency who were killed defending the state from Kuki narco-terrorists.

In a solemn function held Sunday at the Yumnam Khunou residence of Lup advisor Nongthombam Rajendro, pension amount of Rs 3,000 each were distributed to 10 families.

Floral tributes were also paid to the 10 martyrs - Laimayum Prem, Laishram Rojen, Okram Sanaton, Laishram Prem, Haobijam Somen, Wangkheirakpam Alison, Thongam Debabrata, Thangjam Lemba, Sagolsem Loya and Pukhrambam Nikhil.

Speaking at the event, Rajendro informed that the Lup was formed by well-wishers and generous donors of Khundrakpam AC.

The pension scheme was a gesture of solidarity and gratitude to the families of those who laid down their lives for Manipur.

The Lup plans to continue providing the pension on 20th of every month, he said, and announced that the organisation has resolved to take responsibility for the education of the martyrs' children.

Another member of the Lup said that they had provided a machine loom to one of the bereaved families with plans for similar assistance to the others.

He further informed that Laimayum Prem, one of the martyrs, was relocated from Jiribam and his family had no land.

In response, Rajendro purchased a land plot measuring 0.05 acre at Khuningthek and donated it to the family.
