DC Thoubal appeals people to not panic during civil defence mock drill

The Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kamei has appealed to the people of Thoubal district to remain calm and extend cooperation during the Civil Defence mock drill "Operation Abhyaas" to be carried out tomorrow to assess and enhance the readiness of Civil Defence mechanisms in the event of war.
Speaking to the media persons in a press meet, DC Hannah Kamei stated that as part of nationwide exercise under Civil Defence Rule, 1968, a mock drill will be conducted tomorrow at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School from 4 pm to simulate air raid and its eventualities by experts from various stakeholders.
As part of the mock drill, activities like air raid warning siren, public announcement via police vehicle, fire engine siren, blackout simulation, search and rescue operation, casualties evacuation, civil defence training, etc will be conducted to assess and strengthen disaster preparedness and public safety training, said Kamei.
She also requested the general public and all concerned to remain calm and extend cooperation while conducting the mock drill.
