Mangal Village Level Federation celebrates first anniversary

Bishnupur, July 13 2024: The first anniversary celebration of Mangal Village Level Federation, an apex body of nine Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Kangsoibi Mapal village was held today at Kangsoibi Mapal community hall organised by the federation.

The Mangal Village Level Federation was formed with an aim to improve the economic and social status of rural women under the aegis of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) Bishnupur Block with the motto 'Women Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation' .

Kangsoibi Mapal village is located under Kha Thinungei Gram Panchayat of Thanga Assembly Constituency.

The event was graced by Thanga AC MLA Tongbram Robindro; State Mission Manager-Institution Building & Capacity Building (SMM-IBCB) MSRLM G Kavita Devi; Kha Thinungei Zilla Parishad former Member Oinam Ibojao; Manager of Manipur Rural Bank, Kumbi Branch Haobijam Dayananda; District Mission Manager (DMM) Bishnupur Angom Amarjit; MSRLM Block-in-Charge, Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), Bishnupur Block Salam Bikram; MSRLM CC, BMMU, Bishnupur Lairenjam Biren and Secretary, YADA Club, Kangshoibi Mapal Oinam Bhagiroth as the presidium members.

Speaking at the event, MSRLM Block-in-charge, BMMU, Bishnupur Block Salam Bikram said that the vision of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission has been striving earnestly for the upliftment of rural women in the State thereby generating a regular source of income for them.

Under this initiative, 70 members of eight SHGs have availed the loan benefits of MSRLM by taking Rs 17, 70,000 (Seventeen lakhs and seventy thousand) as the revolving fund, he said.

He maintained that the sanctioned funds of MSRLM to Mangal VLF has helped in enhancing the socio-economic status of many women.

He appealed to all SHGs concerned to make the best use of funds provided by MSRLM and help in improving the living condition of every rural household.

A member of Mangal VLF while speaking on the sidelines expressed that the womenfolk of Kangsoibi Mapal village are able to have an efficient source of income through the funds and aids of Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission.

She also appealed to the authority of the mission to provide more welfare schemes for the rural womenfolk.
