CCpur Cong gears up ahead of Assembly polls

The Churachandpur District Congress Committee (CDCC) held its executive meeting yesterday with the aim to strengthen the party before the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections in 2027.The meeting held at Venus Hotel in Churachandpur was attended by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary (organisation) Md Wahidur Rahman, MPCC general secretary Sokho George, Minority Department chairman and spokesperson Jakir Hussain and Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee vice president Tajuddin.
Congress leader Md Wahidur Rahman said the meeting was held to strengthen the Congress party in six Assembly Constituencies of Churachandpur district before the 2027 Assembly elections.
The meeting unanimously resolved to reorganise the district and block Congress committees and appoint booth level agents for the six Constituencies, he said.
The six Assembly Constituencies in the district include Tipaimukh, Thanlon, Henglep, Churachandpur, Saikot and Singngat.
The meeting discussed strategies to strengthen the party at the grassroots level in the six Constituencies, and field candidates in all the six Constituencies, Wahidur said.
The meeting discussed the party's failure in the last election where it failed in all the six Constituencies.
The party leaders and workers, during the meeting, resolved to work with dedication to secure all of the six seats in the 2027 elections, Wahidur said.
