Printing and Stationery Dept goes paperless

Imphal, July 10 2025:
Director of Printing and Stationery, Ng Roben has announced that his department has successfully transitioned to a paperless operation.
Addressing a function held at the office complex of the Directorate at Yaiskul Police Lane today, Ng Roben clarified that going paperless doesn't mean completely eliminating paper usage, given the directorate's role in printing gazettes and documents.
Instead, the directorate aims to leverage digital tools to maximize efficiency, he said and added that the directorate will now accept printing orders from other departments via e-office, e-mail, or WhatsApp to reduce paperwork.
Informing that Gazette notifications are now accessible online at http://govemmentpress.nic.in, he announced that the directorate has also begun uploading digitally signed notifications with timestamps from June 1, 2025.Production of 1 ton of paper demands substantial resources and energy, he said and continued that shifting to paperless operations will not only enhance transparency and accountability but also expedite work processes while reducing pollution and waste.
The programme was also attended by Joint Director of Department of Information Technology G Robert Sharma and Assistant Director of Printing and Stationery Th Binodkumar among others.
