Imphal, May 09 2025:
The banned KCP has warned an alleged organised syndicate led by one Md Khalid of Kwakta for engaging in transportation of huge quantities of betel leaves (Mitha Patta) and other harmful items, specially tobacco-based items from Silchar to Imphal and other valley districts via Churachandpur by paying huge amounts of money to the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA).
A press release issued by the outfit's Information and Public Relations Secretary M Punsiba Meitei said that they have investigated the matter.
The investigation has revealed that the syndicate led by Md Khalid who is also a Moulavi has been paying lakhs of rupees every month to ZRA and also other Kuki-Zo narcoterrorist elements for facilitating the transport of betel leaves and other harmful products into the valley districts of Kangleipak via Churachandpur.
These funds are being used in training and arming the inhuman cadres of Kuki-Zo narco-terrorist groups with sophisticated assault weapons, thus further emboldening them in their endeavour to target the unarmed Meitei community and destabilize the peace and unity of Manipur, it said.
The outfit then warned Md Khalid and his entire syndicate that all their transport and trade activities being carried out by paying huge amounts of money to ZRA and other Kuki-Zo narco-terrorists elements should be stopped with immediate effect.
