Identification and assessment camp for children with special needs held in Thoubal

Thoubal, August 05 2025:
As part of the week-long Mega Identification, Assessment & Aids and Devices Distribution Camp, the Samagra Shiksha, DPO/ZEO, Zone III, Thoubal IED and IEDSS in collaboration with RBSK, District Health Department, Social Welfare Manipur and ALIMCO organised a Medical Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) of Thoubal district at Khangabok Hr Sec School.
The Assessment Camp was inaugurated by the ZEO Zone III Thoubal, Y Achouba, in the presence of ZEO Zone III Program Officer (RTE) P Sukumar; DI in-charge N Rajen; Resource Persons (RTE) A Surjit Meitei and S Sanjoy, along with staff of IED and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Program Officer (RTE) P Sukumar stated that the camp aimed to identify and assess CWSN students of the district with various disabilities including visual impairment, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, orthopaedic impairment and intellectual disabilities.
During the screening, many students were identified and assessed, and the registration process for the identified students will be initiated soon, stated P Sukumar.
As part of the camp, 33 already registered CWSN students were distributed with various aids and devices to assist them in their education and daily life.
