Take a stand : Students' Wing to Govt

The Students' Wing of JCILPS has today urged the State Govt to make a clear stand on the three Bills passed in August last year on the demand for implementation of ILPS in Manipur by May 8 .
Speaking to reporters today at JCILPS office located at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, convener of JCILPS students' wing, Oinam Nandababu said that the State Govt's inability to bring the three Bills passed last year to its logical conclusion is inappropriate.
As such, the State Govt should make its stand clear to the public within May 8, he said.
The State Govt should act fast to fulfil points of agreement it reached with the JCILPS which are at its discretion.
He also urged all political parties to adhere to their stand on ILPS issue and strive to work for conversion of the three Bills into Acts.
The Students' Wing leader also said that no outsiders will be allowed to contest or cast their votes in the ensuing IMC election slated for June 2 .
Nandababu further said that emergency services including religious ceremony, medical, power and water supply, media will be exempted from the purview of the 42 hours public curfew imposed by JCILPS which is to begin from this midnight.
He urged all concerned not to cause disturbances to medical services and media during the curfew period.
He further announced that Suraj of SUK, Imphal East; Kennesia of AMSU, Imphal West; Suraj of KSA, Thoubal and Amar Khwairakpam of MSF, Bishnupur have been appointed as the district conveners of JCILPS students' wing.
He urged all concerned to cooperate with the JCILPS agitation.
