Imphal, October 04 2025: In connection with the 71st Wildlife Week Celebration, the Central Forest Division, Forest Department, Government of Manipur, successfully organised a Wildlife Quiz Competition today at the Manipur Forest Training Institute (MFTT), Luwangsangbam.

As per a release issued by the Central Forest Division, the event was aimed at promoting awareness, understanding, and appreciation of wildlife conservation among school students and encouraging them to take an active role in protecting the state's rich biodiversity.

A total of six schools from across Imphal participated in the competition, making the event both competitive and informative.

The quiz featured a wide range of topics related to wildlife, biodiversity, endangered species, protected areas, and conservation initiatives, thereby testing the knowledge and awareness of the young participants.

After several keenly contested rounds, Xtra Edge School emerged as the winner (1st prize), while Little Master English Higher Secondary School and Nongpok Maheikol secured the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.

The winners were felicitated with cash awards and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.

At the event, officials of the Central Forest Division highlighted the significance of celebrating Wildlife Week as a reminder of the urgent need to conserve wildlife and natural habitats.

They emphasized that fostering awareness and knowledge among students is crucial for building a sustainable future.
