Imphal, May 04 2025: A 40-year old woman was stabbed on the neck by a 29 year old man at Paona Bazar near Ibohal Cycle this morning.

According to information culled from the spot, one Kh Devesh (29) of Sagolband Salam Leirak had a heated argument with the victim before he took out a pair of scissors and stabbed the victim on the neck at around 11 am .

On seeing the scene, people present in the area rushed in and detained the assailant.

Devesh was then handed over to police.

On the other hand, the victim was rushed to Raj Medicity and her condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at City police station against Kh Devesh on the charge of attempt to murder.

The accused was produced before the Duty Magistrate later in the evening and has been remanded to custody till May 7 .
