Kamjong, September 03 2025:
The Headmen of the NH-102A (Package 3) Affected Villages Under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division has accused the United Senior Citizen Forum of making statements concerning the highway project in their name and denounced the mis-representation.
A press statement jointly issued by chairman M Athing and secretary Vareso Ningshen of the Committee on National Highway No 102A Affected Villages Under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division has characterized these actions as "misleading, unauthorized, and unacceptable" .
It informed that the affected villages of Kasom Khullen Sub-Division have already constituted a "Committee of Headmen" which alone is mandated to address, represent, and take decisions on all matters related to the NH-102A (Package 3) Highway Project.
Stating that this Committee has been working tirelessly in coordination with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA), and the concerned State Government departments to ensure proper implementation of the project while safeguarding the interests of the affected villages, the statement strongly maintained that no external body or forum has the right to speak on their behalf.
It also issued a warning saying that any interference or misrepresentation in the future will not be tolerated and will be dealt with seriously.
"Respect the rights, responsibilities, and jurisdiction of the Committee of Headmen of Kasom Khullen Sub-Division in all matters related to the NH-102A (Package 3) Highway Project", the statement reminded.
