Workshop on UNNATI 2024 held

A workshop cum capacity building programme on "Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI)-2024" was held today at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal, North AOC.
The workshop was organised by the Directorate of Trade, Commerce & Industries.
Manipur under the aegis of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry Of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Bajpai, Additional Chief Secretary (TCI), Manipur, said that the UNNATI 2024 is a central sector scheme designed to strengthen the industrial ecosystem in the North-Eastern Region and attract new investment.
Highlighting that the scheme's goal is to boost economic activity in manufacturing and services, he said, "By incentivizing industrial expansion and optimizing operations, UNNATI lays the foundation for a vibrant economy driven by performance and innovation".
He continued that the scheme will cover all the 8 northeastern States namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
He also mentioned that the total financial outlay of the scheme is Rs 10,037 crore and the North-Eastern Development Financial Corporation Ltd (NEDFI) will be the nodal agency for the disbursal of incentives under various components of the scheme.
"The scheme is effective from March 9, 2024, and will remain in force up to and inclusive of March 8, 2034 .
Registration under the scheme was open from March 9, 2024 to March 31, 2026", he added.
Furthermore, Anurag Bajpai appealed to all the entrepreneurs and SMEs to avail the benefit of the UNNATI 2024 to enhance economic development and industrialization in the State.
Yumnam Robita, Director of Trade, Commerce & Industries, Manipur was also present at the workshop.
