Imphal, June 01 2026:
Mobile numbers of unauthorised persons have been found listed as that of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of two polling stations under Sagolband Assembly Constituency in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms, said Congress' former Minister Kh Loken.
A booth level officer is mandated to use his/her registered mobile number.
Properly filled SIR forms and documents are supposed to be uploaded via such registered numbers only.
However, two mobile numbers of unauthorised persons have been found listed as that of BLOs' in the SIR forms in two polling stations of the Sagolband AC, he said, speaking to reporters at Congress Bhavan, Imphal.
The two polling stations are 11/11 and 11/12, he added.
While one of the mobile numbers belong to a person working with the Crime Investigation Department, the other number is found belonging to a person who is not of Sagolband AC, Loken said.
This finding has caused suspicion and undermined the sanctity of the exercise, he said.
The SIR is an exercise to verify and revise the electoral rolls, and ensure eligible citizens have the right to vote.
Such an important exercise must be conducted fairly and transparently, he added.
The authorities concerned must rectify the issue and hold the SIR in a fair manner, Loken said.
