Thoubal police celebrates Ningol Chakkouba with women of Heirok and Salungpham

Thoubal, October 31 2025:
The Thoubal District Police today organised a heartwarming celebration of the cherished festival of Ningol Chakkouba, which honours the sacred bond between brothers and sisters, at Heirok Police Station.
The event brought together more than 300 Meira Paibis and Ningols from across Thoubal district, including women from tribal communities of neighbouring villages, in a spirit of unity and goodwill.
The celebration was graced by SP Thoubal, Manoj Prabhakar M; Addl SP (Ops) of Thoubal, Hijam Devendra; i/c Addl SP (LO) of Thoubal district and SDPO of Yairipok, Divya; DSP (Ops) Thoubal, M Binodkumar; DSP (CDO) N Sadananda; Dy SP (Ops) Y Sunanta; and OC of Heirok PS, Leimapokpam Amit, who served as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, SP Manoj Prabhakar emphasized that the law enforcing agencies exist to protect the lives and property of citizens, maintain peace, and ensure the welfare of the people - objectives that can only be achieved with public cooperation and trust.
He further stated that even though he and SDPO Divya hailed from the State of Tamil Nadu and Haryana respectively, their dedication to serving the people remains steadfast.
He urged the people to regard police personnel as their own brothers and sisters and to extend their support for the welfare initiatives undertaken by the State police for the people.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of mutual respect, affection, and understanding between the police and the community - reflecting the true essence of Ningol Chakkouba.
