Full State honour paid to cops

The State paid full honour to the three police personnel killed in the line of duty in militant attacks today at 1st Manipur Rifle ground with 36 rounds of gun salute.
The bodies of the three martyrs were brought to 1st Manipur Rifles Afsos ground after post mortem at JNIMS at around 4 pm.
Home Minister Gaikhangam, Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Revenue, Forest and Environment Minister I Hemochandra and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister M Okendro gathered at Afsos ground even before the dead bodies were brought there.
High ranking police officers led by DGP LM Khaute, ADGPs, IGs, DIGs, SPs, SDPOs and OCs of different police stations too gathered at the ground.
Soon after the dead bodies wrapped with National Flags were brought at 1st MR Afsos ground, Chief Minister O Ibobi too arrived there and he paid floral tributes to the three martyrs of State Police followed by Gaikhangam, other Congress Ministers, high ranking police officers and family members of the martyrs
Two minutes silence was observed and 1st Manipur Rifles personnel gave 36 gun salute.
Later Chief Minister O Ibobi condoled the bereaved family members of the three martyrs and assured to provide all kind of assistance from the side of the State Government.
Speaking to media persons, O Ibobi stated that the ambush upon State Police at two different locations along the Imphal-Moreh road today was an act of cowardice.
It was a heinous crime.
He stated that the State Government would investigate and find out who was behind the attack at the earliest.
