CRPF observes World Environment Day

CRPF Langjing today observed the World Environment Day with all the members of the forces.
Along with planting 500 tree saplings inside their camps, a pledge was taken to keep its campus free from plastic, pollution and communicable diseases.
The observance was attended by Vikram Sahgal, IGP (M & N) Sector CRPF; Dr Subhash Damle, DIG Range Manipur; Mohinder Kumar, DIG M&N Sector; Dr Lingaraj, DIG Composite Hospital and other senior officers.
BN, CRPF deployed in Lamphelpat also observed the World Environment Day on the theme "Clean and Green" under the supervision of Commandant Kalyan Singha.
Altogether 100 saplings of different species were planted in and around the headquarter.
Similarly, Coys deployed at Noney, K Senam, Sehjang, Keithelmanbi and Nuntek planted 100 saplings at their respective campsite and adjoining areas.
Commandant Kalyan Singha emphasised on the importance of planting trees to battle global warming and appealed to every officers and jawans to plant trees and nourish them to make the environment free from pollution.
The World Environment Day was also observed by 32 Bn CRPF by planting trees along with NHPC staff and localites.
Each member of the unit took oath of confirmation that it will be their earnest duty to spread awareness among the people of the State to be responsible towards the environment by not wasting electricity, water and scattering waste materials.
Commandant Sh Rajgopal Singh, Second-in-Command Ch Bobby Singh, Deputy Commandant Bimal Rawat and other officers were present at the occasion.
