Modular OT Complex inaugurated at RIMS

Imphal, May 30 2025: The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, today marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Modular Operation Theatre Complex for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR).

The new facility was officially inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, Imphal, in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Imphal and Prof L Nilachandra Singh, Head of PMR Department, RIMS, Imphal.

As per a release issued by RIMS, the Modular Operation Theatre Complex is expected to enhance the quality of surgical care and rehabilitation services provided by the Department of PMR, in alignment with RIMS' mission to deliver advanced and accessible healthcare to the people of Manipur and the Northeast region.

Speaking at the event, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma described it as a proud moment for RIMS to inaugurate such a modem facility within the Department of PMR.

He highlighted the theatre complex as a major milestone that will significantly improve surgical care and outcomes for patients with disabilities.

He acknowledged the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Team Pharma for their assistance in making the vision a reality.

The Director also praised the spirit of teamwork at RIMS and congratulated the PMR team for their continued pursuit of clinical excellence.

Prof N Sanjib Singh commended the efforts of both the engineering and medical teams involved in the timely completion of the project and reiterated RIMS' commitment to enhancing healthcare services across all departments.

The inaugural function was also attended by the Deputy Director (Administration), CAO/FA, Principal of the College of Nursing, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and staff of the Department of PMR, RIMS, Imphal.
