Imphal, June 29 2025: An award presentation cum felicitation ceremony was held today at Manipur Press Club to honour outstanding individuals from Manipur for their noteworthy contributions in Various fields.

The ceremony was organised by the Bahujana Sahitya Academy, National Committee of India, Manipur State in collaboration with Celin Digital, Trikon for World Foundation, NE Region and Ghyanratana Sahitya Academy, Manipur State Branch.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Laishram Boby, Chairperson, Imphal West Zila Parishad; Dr Phanjoubam Lanajait Singh, president, BSA Manipur State; Kharibam Hitlar, Divisional Forest Officer, Tamenglong; social worker Elangbam Sovid and noted heart surgeon Dr Kshetrimayum Kala.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ph Lanajit said that the academy presents awards to extraordinary achievers of the country every year.

Highlighting that the main award distribution event for the year 2024-25 was recently held at the Godavari Auditorium in New Delhi, he said, "Due to the ongoing conflict, 17 award winners from the State were unable to attend the main event With permission from the National Committee, this special award presentation ceremony was organised to honour their achievement locally".

During the event, the Life Time Achievement National Award-2024 was presented to Shanglakpam Ibechaobi Devi; Sahitya Ratna National Award-2024 to Kongbrailatparp Gangarani; Kala Ratna National Award-2024 to Heirangkhongjam Bidyalaxmi Devi and Dr Thounaojam Lalitkanta Singh; The Sikha Shiromoni National Award-2025 was given to Dr Seram Pramodini Devi; Samaj Ratna National Award-2025 to Gurumayum Jadumani Sharma; Indo Spanish International Award-2024 to Moirangthem Yaima Singh and Moirangthem Khomeiton Singh; Life Time Achievement International Icon Award-2025 to Kakchingtabam Sumati Devi; Bhrat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika International Icon Award-2025 was presented to Laimayum Subharani Devi; Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar International Icon Award-2025 to Thounaojam Romen Singh and Khaidem Kalachand Singh; Dr API Abdul Kalam International Icon Award-2025 to Wangkheirakpam Shreeman Singh; Samaj Gaurav National Award 2025 to Gurumayum Jadumani Sharma, Thingom Mangi Singh and Nongthombam Biramangol Singh; and Samaj Sewak National Award-2024 to Wahengbam Jamnenjoy Meetei.
