Imphal, May 27 2025:
Condemning the allegations levelled against social activist Ashang Kasar by Sangaikot Sub-Division Defence Committee (SSDDC), Churachandpur, the Manipur Naga Youth Organisation-Headquarters (MNYO-HQ) has urged the law enforcing agency to take action against those responsible.
SSDDC had accused Ashang Kasar of making provocative statements on X (formerly Twitter) .
However, the Indigenous People's Forum, Manipur (IPFM) has dismissed the allegations, stating that the social media post in question originated from a fake account.
MNYO-HQ, in a statement, urged the public to recognize the malicious intent behind these actions.
It said that the allegation was raised by a person called Jamchinlien Lhungdim, joint secretary of SSDDC, Churachandpur.
The Organisation claimed that Jamchinlien Lhungdim is an armed militant gang member bom out of the ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo people.
This armed militant gang leader should have been arrested right away but he has been given free passage and scot free by the police personnel of the Sangaikot Police Station, Churachandpur, it alleged.
Saying that the X account in question is fake, created by the Kuki-Zo people to tarnish Ashang Kasar's reputation and create mistrust among the people, the MNYO added that Ashang Kasar is a respected figure who advocates peace and social harmony in Manipur.
In a democratic country like India, violence has no place and attempts to register grievances through violent means are unacceptable and MNYO-HQ stands by Kasar's integrity, it added.
MNYO asserted that the allegations against Ashang Kasar, accusing him of inflaming social discord and communal tension, are baseless and unfounded since they stem from a fake social media account created by an impersonator.
It urged the individuals and organizations concerned to immediately withdraw the FIR filed against Ashang Kasar at the Sangaikot Police Station, Churachandpur.
Additionally, MNYO called upon the involved person from the SSDDC to publicly apologize for the damage caused.
