Flood relief kits distributed

Imphal, October 26 2025:
The Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), under the aegis of the Nestle India Limited, provided relief materials to flood affected people of Imphal East and Imphal West district at Ibudhou Thawanthaba Haraobung, Porompat yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East, Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Kangleipak CLF president Akoijam Kabita and MSRLM State Mission Manager Binota Loitongbam attended the event.
At the event, Binota Loitongbam said the recent floods affected the Imphal East and Imphal West district the most.
The floods affected around L50 lakh households of 700 villages, Binota said.
The flood materials were provided to the MSRLM by Nestle India through its partner NGO Bosconet, Binota said.
In the first phase of the initiative, 5000 relief kits have been provided.
3000 of these will be distributed to 8 Village Level Federations (VLFs) of Sawombung Block, 13 VLFs of Kshetrigao Block and 3 VLFs of Keirao Block, Binota said.
The remaining 2000 relief kits will be distributed to 5 VLFs of Wangoi Block, 11 VLFs of Patsoi Block and 5 VLFs of Haorang Sabal Block.
Each relief kit contains edible and sanitary items, Binota added.
Imphal East DC Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam said Imphal was hit by floods in May and September.
It completely damaged some 47 houses and partially or severely affected some 7000 houses in Imphal East, she added.
The district administration conducted surveys and submitted its report to the Government.
While immediate relief was given to the affected households, no monetary assistance or compensation has been given to the flood affected people, she added.
