School marks two years since adopting traditional uniform

Marking the second anniversary since adopting Khudei as a uniform at the school, Lilong Higher Secondary School organised a solemn event to celebrate the milestone.
Khudei was adopted as a uniform at the school in order to promote local handloom products.
Speaking as the chief guest, Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam said that the current situation and the future of Manipur is in a complex state.
"The current turmoil in the State is due to the weakness and mistakes made by those in power in the Government.
We need to accept this and learn to take responsibility for it", he said.
However, he assured that the conflict will definitely be resolved and a popular Government will be installed without a doubt.
But everyone needs to fulfil their duties and obligations sincerely, added the MLA.
On the topic of culture and traditions, Karam Shyam said following one's customs is a sign of development and progress.
The MLA lauded the Principal of the school for taking the initiative to adopt Khudei as a uniform for the male students.
MLA Karam Shyam also advised the students to study hard, show respect to their elders and teachers and have love for humanity.
At the event, Principal Dr Ningombam Shanta said that students and teachers wear Khudei on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Manipur Human Rights Commission former member Ngangbam Nongyai; All Manipur Columnists' Union secretary Sougrakpam Bhubon and Kanglei People's Confederation president Ch Joykumar were also present at the event.
