Man accused of killing aunt sent to judicial custody

Imphal, September 24 2025:
Ayam Ronny (29), accused of killing his aunt, has been sent to judicial custody till October 8 .
During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to killing his aunty to grab land, the Prosecutor submitted in the Court today.
Ayam Ronny hails from Khurai Chingangbam Leirak.
He has been accused of killing his aunt, Ningombam Ningol Naoroibam ongbi Shilla (53), the wife of Late Rame of Khurai Thoudam Leikai on September 18 night.
Ronny was produced before the Court by Porompat police after the completion of the police custody period.
In the Court, the Assistant Public Prosecutor submitted that during interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to have committed the crime.
The accused had quarrels with the aunt on many occasions and he killed her to grab land, submitted the APP.
On one occasion, one of the younger brothers of the aunt once slapped the accused during a heated argument between him and his aunt over the question of inheritance of land.
Afterwards, he planned to kill his aunt and grab the land, the APP submitted.
On 18 September evening, the accused went to his neighbour's house and took a knife from the kitchen.
He then headed towards the room of his aunt.
He found his aunt sitting on a sofa watching a video on her mobile phone.
Without hesitation, the accused stabbed her multiple times with the knife on different parts of the body, submitted the APP in the Court, praying for judicial custody of the accused.
The Court, after hearing the submissions, remanded Ayam Ronny to judicial custody till October 8 .
