Senapati, August 23 2025: Senapati District Police has verified 3559 individuals during a special drive to detect illegal immigrants and foreign Nationals without valid documents throughout the district.

During the last fortnight starting from August 7 to 23, Senapati Police verified 3559 individuals out of which 296 were found without ILP while 237 carried expired ILP .

Another 8 underaged boys who came for labour were sent back from Mao Gate.

Those without ILP or with expired permits were issued fresh ILP and had their permits renewed accordingly at Mao gate ILP counter.

So far, no illegal immigrants have been detected.

The drive has been carried out in market areas, pockets inhabited by non-locals, along National Highway-2, Maram-Peren Road, Tadubi-Tolloi Road and other inter-village roads.

A reinforced team including Senapati police and 4th IRB have been stationed at Tamphung 24x7 to check the movement of illegal immigrants into the district from Maram-Peren Road.

Meanwhile, SP Senapati SM Zaib Zakir, Addl SP (National Highways) and other officials visited Tamphung to inspect and oversee the proper functioning of Tamphung checkpost.

The special drive will continue in the days to come.
