Imphal, September 22 2025:
Struggling Women's Association (SWA) has appealed to doctors to call off their stir and resume services at RIMS Hospital within 24 hours.
At the office of the SWA at Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai today, its general secretary, Th Margaret Chanu said the suspension of services at RIMS Hospital has inconvenienced and harmed many.
Doctors are noble professionals who render services to the people with dedication, she said.
While any assault on doctors is strongly condemnable, those who are in the profession also introspect why there is such public anger against them, she said.
Had the doctors carefully examined the public anger against them, they would not have launched such a stir and stopped services of the hospital.
she added.
Most of the patients who come to RIMS, INIMS and District Hospitals are people belonging to poor families, she said.
A massive number of them thinking poorly of the services at the RIMS and other Government run hospitals may not be an exaggeration, she said, demanding probe into cases of deaths due to alleged negligence.
