Imphal, August 22 2025: The Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Moirangpurel staged a demonstration today opposing the Government's reported move to withdraw Ukhrul police post stationed at Moirangpurel in Imphal East.

The women protesters stated that the outpost has been playing a crucial role in safeguarding farmers and locals in the area during the prolonged unrest.

Moirangpurel lies in a sensitive conflict zone.

Therefore, removing the security personnel from the area would leave the villagers vulnerable, said Meira Paibi leader Leitanthem ongbi Debala.

The protesters urged the Government to ensure that the deployed police personnel remain in the area, and their pending ration money are released.
