Kakching, June 21 2024:
Kakching Police stopped a public meeting midway convened at Kakching Lamkhai to discuss the probable resolutions for the prevailing Manipur crisis.
Social activist Ashang Kasar and Imagi Meira Convenor RK Sujata were among the eminent individuals who attended the meeting.
Enraged over the activities of the police forces, the irate locals and womenfolk chanted slogans such as 'We don't want to live as Slaves', 'Drive away illegal Kuki refugees', 'No compromise on Manipur's integrity' and so on.
The meeting which was organised by Langsai Thouna Kakching was stopped midway by using additional police forces when RK Sujata was addressing the gathering after Ashang Kasar.
It may be noted that Ashang Kasar while speaking at the meeting underscored the need of coming up with a public resolution to bring an end to the ethnic crisis since May last year as the Government has failed to do so.
He maintained that the Government has turned a blind eye to the immense suffering faced by the innocent civilians though repeated appeals have been made by the masses to resolve the ethnic crisis in the State.
