PDF sets May 25 deadline for road repair

Imphal, May 17 2026: The Paobitek Development Forum (PDF) has set May 25 as the deadline for repairing the 6.5-km lifeline road from Paobitek Lamkhai to Top Upokpi, failing which it will launch a democratic agitation with public support.

Speaking at a press meet at the PDF office in Paobitek Mayai Leikai on Sunday, PDF president Mahibur Rahman Thongkhongmayum said multiple complaints were submitted to the local MLA and the Imphal West DC, but the road remains in a deplorable state.

He noted that a 1.5-km stretch of the road has three schools from nursery to Class 10, causing daily hardship to students and locals.

The Forum urged the Government to complete the road within the stipulated time.
