State conference, awareness programme conducted

Imphal, November 16 2025: The 1st State Conference of All Manipur Bank Officers' Association (AMBOA) was held today at UBIE A Bhawan, Tera Lukram Leirak.

The conference was attended by PK Baruah, general secretary, All India Bank Officers' Association (AIBOA), Assam State Committee and members of AMBOA .

After thorough deliberation, the conference elected Moirangthem Baleshwar Singh as the new senior vice president, SN Putuo as general secretary and Sharewin Varah as treasurer of the AMBOA .

The meeting also elected U Ibochou Singh, Gangmei Luwangjao Kabui and Yengkhom Radheshyam Singh as advisors; Longjam Bishwash Meitei, Kenneingam Serto and Raju Thiyam as vice presidents; Max Aanchung Gonmei and Luckyson Sangailung Panmei as deputy general secretary; Thuankulung Panmei, Pampuinat Michael and Ngoruw Bechung Moyon as joint treasurers.

Bala Thongam, Vareila Marchang, PS Ramreichon and Rickeela Chonjonbam were also elected as convenors of the Women Committee.

Similarly, the 11th State Conference of All Manipur Bank Employees' Association (AMBEA), 8th State Conference of All Manipur Cooperative Bank Employees' Federation and 2nd Conference of All Manipur Bank Retirees' Association was held today at the auditorium of Manipur State Cooperative Bank in Old Assembly Road, Imphal.

The conference held under the theme "Defend Bank Nationalization, Defeat Deunification", was graced by dignitaries, including AMBEA president Ng Priyogopal, All India Bank Employees Association general secretary Ch Venkatachalam, All India Cooperative Bank Employees Federation general secretary KVS Ravi Kumar, All India Trade Union Congress (Manipur State Committee) president Dr M Nara and All Assam Provincial Bank Employees Association general secretary Gaurav Sharma.

The conference elected new office bearers of AMBEA, including Ningthoujam Premkumar as president and Laishram Samungou as general secretary.

New office bearers of All Manipur Co-operative Bank Employees Federation and All Manipur Bank Retirees Association were also elected.

Meanwhile, an awareness programme on "The Importance of Hindustani Music" was successfully conducted yesterday at Vocational Guide School in Sangaithel.

The programme was organised by All Manipur Music Association (AMMA) with the aim to spread awareness about the importance of Hindustani music among the students.

AMMA advisor Prof RK Somojit Singh, secretary A Rabindra and treasurer N Kiran attended the programme as resource persons and gave lectures & demonstrations on the importance & benefits of music.

Ngangbam Chitaranjan Meitei, Principal, Vocational Guide School, was also present at the event.
