Political conference, polling development meeting conducted

Kakching, September 13 2026: A one-day political conference and polling development meeting was held today at Irong Chesaba Makha Leikai organised by Wabagai Block Congress Polling 1 Committee.

Speaking at the programme, former MLA of Wabagai Assembly Constituency Md Fajur Rahim expressed belief that peace and stability will prevail in the country and particularly in Manipur only when Congress Party comes to power.

It may be noted that Md Fajur Rahim is also holding the post of treasurer of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and is an intending candidate of Congress from Wabagai AC in the upcoming 13th Assembly Election of Manipur.

Highlighting that the people of the state are experiencing immense suffering owing to the unfortunate ethnic conflict since May 2023, he expressed discontentment that the BJP Government in the Centre and State have failed to resolve the issue and ease the pain and suffering of the people.

Stating that the Congress party works with an egalitarian approach and strives for overall development, he asserted that the people of Manipur will make the right choice in the upcoming assembly election as it will decide the fate of Manipur.

Referring to the deplorable condition of Wabagai AC, he maintained that the development committee will focus on developmental works in Wabagai.

Today's programme was attended by Wabagai Block Congress Committee president Md Abdul Sala; Kakching District Congress Committee President Md Abdur Rahaman; Wabagai-Block Mahila Congress Committee president Sagolsem ongbi Leima Devi; Kakching District Congress Committee, Minority Department president Alhaj Hesamuddin; MPCC Minority Department vice-president Md Olli Khan; Social worker Mayanglambam Yaima Singh and other members of Congress among others as the presidium members.
