Imphal, September 12 2026: A team of Special Commando Unit Khabeisoi arrested one alleged active cadre of PLA from Lamdeng Khunou and seized explosive items and ammunition of different calibres from Phayeng Awang Leikai under Lamsang police station, Imphal West district.

The arrested individual has been identified as Angom Jeeten Singh (55) of Phayeng Makha Leikai.

Sources said the operation which resulted in the arrest of the person was launched based on specific input from the 33 Assam Rifle.

Following the arrest and preliminary investigation, the team of the Special Commandos carried out a search operation along the Uripok Kangchup road at Phayeng and recovered explosives and ammunition.

The recovered items include eight TNT explosive slabs, seven suspected bombs, ten detonators and 151 live rounds of ammunition of different calibres.

The arrested person and recovered items have been handed over to Lamsang police for further investigation and legal action.
