"Release pending NFSA rice"

Imphal, June 12 2025: Ration card holders of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency have appealed to the authorities concerned to facilitate swift release of all pending NFSA rice to the beneficiaries of the areas under the jurisdiction of Top Makha Leikai, Fair Price Shop No 97.Addressing a press conference at Top Makha Leikai on Wednesday, a beneficiary said that many beneficiaries of Fair Price Shop No 97 did not receive NFSA rice for 8 months in 2024 .

"This year too, NFSA rice for the months of February, March and April have not been distributed", she added.

She claimed that a week ago, rice for the months of May and June were distributed but in reduced quantity, adding to the burden of the people who were already suffering due to the devastating floods which affected many parts of Imphal East district.

She also claimed that priority household card holders were given 3 Kg of rice instead of 5 Kg of rice and AAY beneficiaries were given only 20 Kg .

"While there were reports of rice being lifted for the months of July and August, the rice has not been distributed to the beneficiaries till date", she added.

She also claimed that beneficiaries have not been able to avail the benefits of various Government schemes as their ration cards had been collected by the agent of Fair Price Shop No 97 .

Furthermore, the beneficiary appealed to the authorities concerned to look into the matter and take necessary steps to ensure that people receive their due share of ration.
