Workshop on 'Leadership Development Programme for Women in Cooperative Societies' held at Kamjong

Kamjong, August 11 2025:
The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and the Kamjong District Federation of LAMPS Ltd jointly organised a one-day workshop on the "Leadership Development Programme for Women in Cooperative Societies", at Phungyar Village Community Hall, Kamjong district, Manipur.
The objective of the program is to enhance leadership skills, capabilities, and cooperative management among women leaders within the community organisation, both current and future, by enabling an effective and efficient completion of work with goals.
The program was attended by several key figures, including Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW); T Chuongsin Koireng, member MSCW; SK Sophia Moyon, member MSCW; and Nepolean Shaiza, president, Kamjong District Federation of LAMPS Ltd, served as presidium members.
Grace Jajo, Senior Consultant for Relief & Disaster Management with the Govt of Manipur; Kh Rangamlian Aimol, Director-in-charge of ICM Imphal; and Vareichon Ruivah, Branch Manager of the Central Bank of India were the resource persons of the program.
During the event, Thumlip Monsang highlighted the role of women in cooperative leadership, noting that cooperatives are based on shared responsibility and trust.
She urged women leaders to embody accountability, vision, and the courage to act in the group's best interest, while also contributing to innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
In the technical session, a variety of topics related to community development and resilience were covered by the resource person.
Kh Rangamlian Aimol, Director-in-charge of ICM Imphal, shares insights into the New Cooperative Policy 2025 aimed at fostering the growth of cooperative societies.
Grace Jajo, senior consultant for Relief and Disaster Management, focused on the crucial role of women in disaster risk reduction and management, while Vareichon Muivah, Branch Manager, Central Bank of India, delivered valuable information on financial literacy and management.
More than 120 participants were present at the programme.
