Sainik School Imphal conducts Inter House Cross Country Race

Yet another cornerstone in the co-curricular activity of Sainik School Imphal, the Inter House Cross Country Race for the academic session 2025-26 started in the wee hours of Sunday.
Cadets of Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior categories participated fervently in the competition wherein grit, determination and physical endurance were tested.
As per a release issued by Sainik School Imphal, it was the first time in history of the school that all cadets of the school participated in the race in their respective categories.
A total of 572 cadets ran the 3.5 km/ 5.5 km/ 7.5 km race.
In the category-wise individual position, the winners were Cdt Invenson Kh of Raman House (SubJunior), Cdt Thoungamba Ksh of Netaji House (Junior) and Cdt Seitamjit Thongram of Tagore House (Senior) who broke the earlier record by clocking 29 minutes, 13 seconds for a 7.5 cross country route.
In the House-wise category, Netaji House emerged as champion for Junior Category while Tagore House held the championship title for Senior Category.
The event became momentous with the visit of alumni of the 9th batch of the school.
The alumni donated a hi-fi Lectern to the school as a token of love for their alma mater.
They addressed the cadets and expressed their feelings of nostalgia as they visited their alma mater and upon seeing the young cadets.
They also motivated the cadets and urged them to pursue their dreams with passion.
In his address, Sainik School Imphal's Principal Col A Rajiv appreciated the cadet participants for their enthusiasm and fervour and exceptional performance in the challenging race as well as for breaking records of the previous Cross Country Races.
He expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their visit and their generous donation.
He also thanked the Pradhan of Waiton village for helping the school conduct the event successfully.
Trophies, certificates and prizes were distributed to the winning houses and cadets by the Adm Officer and the Principal.
